This course explores managing personnel in an at-will organization. Oklahoma has a "right to work" or "at-will employment" environment, often incorrectly perceived as permission and protection for blanket termination. The common exceptions to at-will legislation on the state and national levels will be discussed. The course will explore hiring, managing performance and termination, examining an employer's role from the beginning of hiring the right employee to the point of exit, and the basic management responsibilities during the employment period. Topics will include interview techniques, performance measures for productivity issues and employer best practices.
