The County Training Program announces its new, online, Excise Board training course. It is the online option that may be taken rather than taking the two, three hour Zoom sessions named Excise Board Training, part 1, and Excise Board Training, part 2. This six hour training (either online or via the two Zoom sessions) is required training for all County Excise Board members and must be taken within the first twelve months following appointment. This six hours is also required for all County Clerks and their 1st Deputies and Commissioners in the Advanced I Certification Program. Finally, this six hours also counts as discretionary credit hours for all others. *To access the class go to https://learn.extension.okstate.edu/ . *Click on " Excise Board Training." *Next click on Enroll. *A full name and unique email address must be provided by each individual taking the class. *Also, at check-out, be sure to enter the promo code VRYN2U . *When prompted, log-in using the public log-in option (not O-Key). *You will be billed/invoiced for the $65 class fee at a later date. The class seems to work best with the Google Chrome browser but will likely work with Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge. Be sure you are using an updated browser. " The courses are interactive. You will need to use your mouse and keyboard to answer questions, continue, etc. " The courses takes approximately 6 hours to complete, but you have 60 days to work on them. " You can use a phone, but a computer makes it easier to see and access everything. " If you do use a phone, the Canvas Student app is recommended. " The "How to Succeed" activity is recommended to those new to e-learning, It is located in the initial "Start Here" module. There are several interactive activities throughout the class and a quiz at the end of each module. Don't worry about the quizzes. You can take them as many times as needed in order to get the 80% score necessary to continue to the next module. You can work at our own pace, any time of day, logging in and out as needed.
